Position Available
Minister of Music
We are seeking an experienced Minister of Music to serve our parish. The position is 20 hours per week.
While a strong appreciation for liturgy is needed, we celebrate a blended liturgy at our Sunday Morning Service. We call it blended because we use the traditional liturgical frame of the Mass, while also implementing the contemporary hymnody and voice of this day and age.
Our choir loft is filled with a 20 rank Moller pipe organ complete with a dedicated choir that loves to sing and be challenged. Additionally in the loft, we have a state of the art keyboard. Below in the nave of our historic building, you will find a beautifully and recently restored, and rebuilt, Bush & Lane grand piano.
We desire the individual chosen for this position to coordinate and expand the current music program. Responsibilites will include directing & accompaning the choir and playing for our Sunday Liturgy as well as our seasonal services.
Perfection is not required, nor is the ability to walk on water . . . just a good sense of humor, and love for the Savior as we grow together in faith, and seek ways in which we can tell others about Jesus. Additionaly, the local community college, West Shore Community College, is also in need of a part time music teacher. Both positions are separate opportunities, but perhaps together, they might serve someone full time.
